Cognitive and Learning Assessments

Cognitive and learning assessments can be useful when there are concerns that children are not reaching their full academic potential or perhaps they are struggling at school. They can help to identify strengths and needs that can help understand your child's learning.

Five key areas of cognitive abilities are assessed using sub-tests from the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, 5th UK edition (WISC-V UK) and subtests from the Weschler Individual Achievement Test 3rd UK edition (WIAT-III-UK) can be used to consider attainment for learnt subjects typically taught in schools.

The assessment takes around two hours. A feedback appointment is then offered to discuss the results and a comprehensive report including recommendations for school or college.
